About
Roman Manuszewski was born in Poland - his musical education started at the age of 6, first privately, than at a music school. He started writing music at the age of 16 for a rock band he was playing with. The serious writing began whilst studying Economics (Foreign Trade) at Gdansk University. He joined some student's cabarets and theatre groups and began writing music for radio plays and TV programs. At the same time he started working with some known professional musicians and singers.
During that time he also founded an international folk band (instrumental-vocal group), which for several years was a top band (of its kind) in Poland. For his songs and music he was awarded several top prizes at different song and music festivals. One of his great passion was working as a DJ. After obtaining a DJ license - hard to believe now, but in those days you had to pass a government exam to become a professional DJ - he worked for some top clubs in northern Poland.
After moving to England he started working with some English professional songwriters and singers. Frustration and disappointment as well as serious accident (four fingers damaged) were a deciding factor in taking a break from writing and playing. Fortunately, his love of music enabled him (through hard work on his fingers) to play and write music again. For the past few years Roman (member of PRS) has been working with some new songwriters and singers as well as writing material for his own projects. On the Music page you are welcome to listen to some of the songs and instrumental pieces Roman has written/co-written.
